Only a few easy steps are needed to test beacon and geofence-triggered notifications on Android or iOS.
Sign up for a free account (up to 5000 monthly active users) at www.proximitydmp.com to get access to the dashboard to manage all your beacons and services.
Under Manage / Beacons you can quickly add your beacon by clicking the + button. If you ordered beacons from Beaconinside we can automatically import all your beacons with the correct settings. It works the same way for Manage / Geofences.
The default Beaconinside beacon UUID is: F0018B9B-7509-4C31-A905-1A27D39C003C
Campaigns are used to define interactions between mobile users and beacon or geofence zones. Campaigns include a notification message when entering a zone and a target action like an image or a custom in-app landingpage. You can also define your own scheduling and additional targeting criteria like the day of the week or the mobile operating system. Select the All Beacons or All Geofences group to create a trigger event. With the help of groups you can flexible create various campaign triggers, e.g. a zip code area, all shopping windows or all entrances.
Go to Services / Campaigns to create a new one.
In the Account menu in the top right corner you will find your API token that authorizes mobile apps to retrieve campaign data. Do not publish this token.
Open the Beaconinside app and go to "Settings". Select "Enable your own account" and enter your API token.
After confirming the account token and having Bluetooth and location services activated you see how beacon interactions are triggered, a notification should appear after the next app start. The easiest way to simulate beacon zone entry and exit is to unplug the battery. The default setting for Beaconinside beacons is a radius of 40m. If no notification appears check your campaign settings and if all criteria are met (e.g. scheduling and region triggers).
Can I use the Secure Beacon profile with campaigns?
Yes, you just need to enable the Secure Beacon profile of your Beaconinside beacon. All else works in the same way as for regular iBeacon devices.
Can I use Eddystone-UID/EID beacons with campaigns?
No, unfortunately this is not yet implemented.
